Therapy & Healing for Depression

Many people think depression is a problem to be solved. It is a natural response whose root needs to be discovered and healed.

Depression is a manifestation of the body’s “freeze” response. It is there to protect you, and together, we will find out why it’s there. It does NOT mean:

  • You just aren’t grateful enough

  • You don’t look on the bright side enough

  • You have some kind of moral failure

  • You don’t pray enough, read enough Scripture, or have enough faith

  • Or even necessarily that you’re what we would ordinarily think of as “sad”

While you may need medication or other lifestyle changes to help manage the side effects of depression (so that, for example, you can continue to perform well at work or be there for your family), therapy can help get to the roots so that your mind and body feel safe enough to come out of the chronic freeze state.
